Frequently asked questions
How do I print these at actual size?
Set the print scale to 100% or Actual Size, not Fit to Page, and choose the paper size matching the file you downloaded. Then measure the calibration bar on the printed sheet — it must read exactly 4 inches and 100 mm.
Why is my printout slightly too small?
Almost always a 'Fit to page' or 'Shrink oversized pages' setting, which reduces the sheet by 2 to 6 percent to clear the printer's unprintable margin. Turn it off. If your printer consistently scales by a fixed amount, compensate — a bar measuring 3.9 inches means you printed at 97.5%, so reprint at 102.5%.
Letter or A4 — which should I download?
Whichever matches the paper in your printer. Printing the Letter file on A4 or vice versa will trigger automatic scaling in most drivers, which defeats the whole purpose.
Are these free to use commercially?
